- You need to be the content, not be stashed next to the content.
- You need your content in the RSS feed to reach the fanatical groupies who never visit the website.
- You need to be the center of the conversation, not an ad in the corner of the website.

The Sponsored Authored Post program gets you in front of over 125,000 intelligent technologists who have a business or are starting one now. How it works
- Flat fee of $2000 (if I write it) or $1500 (if you write it, I edit/editorialize, but it must meet minimum acceptable standards).
- We do a quick email interview and decide on a topic that would be intriguing to my readers while also promoting your product/service and your company in general. Because I’m either writing or editing the post, the quality and effectiveness is no less than my regular posts, including finding and purchasing the rights to images, cartoons (which I source and pay for), and other constructive material.
- Of course we’ll ensure proper product/company promotion and back-links, however it’s in both our interests to structure them to flow from the prose rather than feeling like a sales pitch, because that will promote more quality click-throughs and article-sharing.
- I cannot guarantee traffic, but on average my guest-posts get:
- 50,000 RSS views
- 5,000-30,000 additional unique views on this blog
- 15,000-100,000 additional unique views on syndicated sites which often include Robert Scoble’s blog (Building43), Business Insider, and VentureBeat.
- 30-300 re-tweets
- Frequently on front page of Hacker News
- To help you get traffic I will do all of the following:
- I’ll post at the best time of the week for my blog (Tuesday, 10:30am CST).
- I will not post anything else for a week. (Or two weeks for an extra $500.)
- I’ll tweet about the post multiple times.
- You’ll stay on my blog’s front page for a few months.
- Your post will show up in “related post” lists on other posts of mine, driving a trickle of traffic forever.
- Your post will show up in “related post” lists on other blog posts on the Internet at large.
- Optional: If you want to run some sort of contest, I’ll help. For example, everyone who RTs the post could go into a drawing for an Amazon gift certificate or a discount/freebie from you. It’s a great way to generate additional traffic, and I will proactively help, e.g. tweeting about the contest multiple times.
